Pointe Assessment
A pointe assessment by a qualified registered physiotherapist with specific dance knowledge can help advise you and your dance teacher on when it is suitable and safe to begin pointe work.
- beneficial prior to or after beginning pointe work
- discuss previous history of injuries, your dance background
- assess your foot control, turnout, core strength, joint range of motion and ballet technique
- education and a tailored Pilates based home exercise program will be given to help correct any imbalances or instabilities

Dance Assessment
A detailed musculoskeletal assessment testing; strength, spinal mobility, range of motion, and core stability can help you understand how to work with your body to reach your full potential as a dancer. Injury prevention education and a comprehensive home Pilates-based exercise program will be given to target areas including

- core stability
- turnout
- muscle imbalances
- ankle stability and foot control.

Physiotherapy for Dancers

Dancers often have too much mobility and lack stability around joints. Superior core strength is required for dancing along with synchronous breath control which brings awareness to the centre of the body and can improve turns, control arabesques, prevent injuries and allow you to make difficult steps look effortless.
